The Pumas beat the All blacks in historic Victory

The pumas have beat all blacks in a 15-25 victory over the all blacks. They havent beaten the all blacks since 1976. It was a long series of losses for the pumas and it seemed that they were very happy when they won.

Northern White Is Going Extinct

For this activity we had to read an article about how the northern white rhino is going extinct.  We were trying to ident the author's purpose and point of view.  I think that they should be trying to save the white rhino from extinction. Not everyone thinks this as it is going to cost about 9 million dollars for this project and it might not even work.  What do you think?

What's In The News This Week?

Dan Carter moving to the Blues

Dan Carter is moving rugby teams to the Auckland Blues but he is from Christchurch. The Blues have a lot of good players this year like Beauden Barrett and I think that they will win every game they play because of how many good players they have.  The Super Rugby Aotearoa competition starts this weekend.

Pod of Dolphins spotted in a Waikato River

There was a pod of 60 Dolphins that swam up the Piako River in Waikato. When bystanders  saw the dolphins they took photos and filmed a video. They were 24 km inland. People think they were chasing food up there.  This is the biggest pod of dolphins seen up the river in 50 years.

Mystery Theme Challenge

Today we had to work in teams to complete some activities which helped us work out our theme for this week.

The activities we did were:
1. We had puzzle pictures to make
2. We had to unscramble words and find them in a word find
3. We had a westamaths competition where each time you got a question right you got a letter and once you finished it spelled out our topic.
4.  Finally we confirmed our topic by finding the country on a world map using the country outline and finally the flag.

I found this activity difficult but we still managed to do most of the clues.

What's in the news today?

Doc is now using drones for pest controlling.

Doc is spending $790,00 on buying drones to help for pest controlling in the area.

Large rats have been all over NZ and it is getting worse.

Doc says that these drones will help out so much in trying to catch these rats.

This will make it safer so they don't kill the native birds.

What do you think it will do to help stop all the pests?

Summer Learning Journey:activity 9 'Dear Jacinda'

I think kids should be able to be the Prime Minister because then it is fear for everyone and i think you should be able to vote from the age of ten and in school you have to spend a whole day learning about laws and all about the mp's and how to be a good Prime minster.
That is my thoughts about being Prime Minister,
